Copper coverings from KME

Why choose

TECU® coverings?

By its very nature, copper possesses all the qualities that make it a highly valuable material in construction:

  • a noble, unmistakable green patina

  • the easiest installation process

  • an exceptionally long lifespan

KME’s TECU® products complement these inherent benefits with additional properties gained through advanced surface and material technologies. TECU® sheets and strips are manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 1172 and KME’s own strict internal standards, using state-of-the-art equipment.

Cu-DHP is highly formable, regardless of temperature or rolling direction. Both the roofing and façade systems made with this material exceed the DIN EN 1172 standards for tolerances and key technical values, allowing for surfaces with an outstanding visual appearance.

Copper material

in constructions

In construction, only Cu-DHP is used—a deoxidized copper with a precisely controlled phosphorus content. Thanks to its hydrogen resistance, this copper offers excellent weldability and soldering properties. Copper sheets and strips intended for standing seam systems are covered by EN 1172: “Copper and copper alloys – Strip and sheet for building construction.”

When exposed to atmospheric conditions, copper naturally forms a durable, adherent, and non-toxic protective layer called patina. This patina shields the copper over time, ensuring a service life that can span hundreds of years. It is stable over time and, even if damaged, it will regenerate.
