Copper rectangular bars
Copper bars are semi-finished products obtained by hot pressing and cold drawing, having:
- a) Cu-ETP – high electrical and thermal conductivity and excellent plastic deformation properties. For this type of copper special precautions are required when heat treating, welding or brazing in a hydrogen atmosphere to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.
- b) Cu-DHP – has excellent welding, bonding and plastic deformation properties both hot and cold.
COMMON AREAS OF USE FOR ROUND COPPER BARS:
- in electrotechnical applications,
- being the basic semi-finished product in the production of transformer substations and electrical panels,
- power distribution systems, wind energy,
- in electrical machine construction,
- design and architecture.
